Johnny DeppWhat we see is a very talented, somewhat eccentric sex symbol. So what does Astrology have to say about what makes Johnny Depp tick? Behind the flamboyance and eccentricity, Johnny appears to be quite the workaholic. That Capricorn Moon means he's driven to work--it's what makes him feel warm and fuzzy, accomplishing his goals, being recognized as being at the top of his field (Sun in 11th). The Capricorn Moon, in and of itself, is enough to make him a workaholic, but put that on the cusp of his 6th house of work, only reinforces this. And what house does Capricorn rule in his chart? His 6th. More workaholic stuff. It could also mean he's prone to diseases related to over-work. Often people with workaholic 6th houses only let themselves have a break when they're ill--its the only valid excuse. It could also indicate health problems relating to skin, hair, teeth and bones. And since Saturn squares both Mercury and Venus, it could also indicate kidney and lung problems if he doesn't stem his over-working ways. Now the two insecure signs of the Zodiac are Capricorn and Virgo. And Johnny has that Moon in Capricorn and a stellium in Virgo in the 2nd house of self-esteem. That indicates he feels he needs to be perfect and he's willing to work very, very hard to achieve this. Why? Scorpio rules his 4th house of home and the ruler of his 4th house, Pluto, is Mars. Powerful stuff and indicating he may even have been abused as a child--as Pluto/Mars conjuncts often denote violence. These attacks would've been sudden and unexpected as Uranus is also conjunct Pluto/Mars, making this a very, very explosive situation. It is from this pressure that his need to be perfect arises. That this very difficult conjunction sits in his 2nd house, indicates it was devastating to his self-esteem. Because Neptune sits in the 4th house, it indicates that alcohol/substance abuse or fanatical religion may have been involved--it could also mean he never felt like he had a home, or maybe didn't fit in. These home issues translate to a bad temper as an adult--and it shows the chart of someone who's quite capable of trashing a hotel room (and yep, his significant other, as well). Why? Uranus rules his 7th house of relationships. On the plus side, that Pluto conjunct Mars (which I'm noticing in many of the celebrity charts) gives people personal power. That extra "ooooohhhhh". Being a little scary warps up that excitment factor. Like the "bad boy" on steroids! It makes them tenacious and gives them true staying power in a field where many come and go. Pluto/Mars people just don't give up. Pluto in the 1st is someone who's intensely private and secretive. Uranus in the 1st is someone who really values being different. Now Mars conjunct Uranus in the 1st house (physical appearance) indicates that his sometimes unusual form of dress (Uranus rules the different, the bizarre) is really an extension of his philosophies, which can be quite different. Now here's a bright man, with Mercury conjunct the ruler of the 3rd house (Venus). He has a tendency to get to the bottom of things--to see through people. How he speaks? It's very attractive--softly and caring (Libra). And gives him quite the pleasant singing boice. And he thinks that way too. Relationships are very important to him and that people speak civilly. A retrograde Saturn indicates his father wasn't there for him. With the squares to Venus/Mercury, I'd say they just didn't communicate. Saturn in Uranus, conjunct those malefics, means he probably wasn't the nicest guy in the world, either and put huge demands on his son. Johnny probably never knew what to expect from him. Of four aspects, only one aspect is easy, and it's a wide trine to the Sun. He may have gotten a strong constitution from his father and a drive to achieve his goals (Sun in 11th). Now mother is easier for the most part, though she looks to have been difficult as well. There are 2 inconjuncts to his Moon, indicating Mom may have left him, perhaps for a lover (5th house). Maybe she never left--it may indicate that Johnny wanted her to go. This pain is buried very, very deeply in his subconscious (12th house). The 12th house is where we put things we can't deal with consciously. The tightest aspect in his chart, which indicates the strongest energy he incarnated to deal with, is a square of Jupiter to the Moon (within 10 minutes applying). Now, this would indicate an extremely emotional woman, probably quite religious, in what Johnny would feel, was an inappropriate way. Now Jupiter is ruling his 5th house and the Moon sits in his 5th house. But the Moon is in sad Capricorn. He may have started entertaining to cheer his mother up. Now there are favorable aspects to the Moon. A very tight sextile, indicating she may have pushed him in his acting career--been of some help, probably financially, toward getting him started. And she likely softened the effect of a very harsh father figure. Now love life! Jupiter rules his 5th house of love/romance/sex. Jupiter squares the Moon, sextiles the Sun, inconjuncts Neptune/Pluto and trines the Ascendant. He's wildly romantic! Intensely feeling, perhaps prone to huge displays of affection, as Jupiter expands anything it touches. And he's likely quite generous to his lovers and children as well. Romance, children, taking risks--this is where life comes easy to him. Literally, the babes throw themselves at him. And things usually will work out for him as Jupiter ruling the 5th is a strong indicator of pure luck. Underneath the romantic exterior is someone who's a bit sad and that can bring out the nurturer in any woman. Now those inconjuncts (separation/disassociation) indicate that his love affairs split up because of disillusionment (Neptune) over too much control (Pluto and Neptune in Pluto). Now Marriage? Uranus rules his 7th house. No Betty Crocker type for him! He's interested in someone unusual, different-- maybe even a little bizarre (Uranus square Venus). It also indicates sudden endings to love affairs as Uranus rules the sudden and unexpected and Venus rules relationships. Trust will always be an issue with him with those squares from Saturn to Mercury/Venus. With the ruler of the 7th conjunct those malefics, he can be quite controlling as well. Now Saturn sits in his 7th house of relationships. He takes his bonds quite seriously and is willing to work very hard at them. Much of what they conflict about may be money, as Saturn squares Mercury/Venus in the 10th house in Taurus (money). He may feel that women are only interested in him because of his money (distrust). If I could give Johnny advice, I'd say to work on his self-image and trust issues. Until he feels better about himself inside, he's going to continue to be controlling of his mates. Without fail--attempting to control another human being is futile and it tends to bring about that which we fear--the loss of a loved one. As is often the case with very, very successful people, there is usually a difficult background. From these challenges, we grow stronger and more confident. We know what we're made of because we've been tested. |
